The International Observatory for Documenting Human Rights Violations condemns the bombing of the “Al-Houthi terrorist group” of Emirati civilian areas and facilities

The aforementioned terrorist group, in cooperation and logistical partnership with other terrorist parties, such as the “Lebanese Hezbollah” organization, is still working on an ongoing basis to target cities and vital facilities in the state of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Observatory indicated that the Houthi group’s continued targeting of civilian objects and facilities amount to a war crime according to international laws and the Hague Regulations relating to the laws and customs of land war of 1907, which do not apply to the army only, but also to armed groups and militias.

The Observatory stressed the need to immediately stop bombing vital facilities or any other means that endanger the lives of civilians, as these attacks violate international law, and the justification for these terrorist attacks cannot be accepted with the military operations that the State of “Yemen” is witnessing in the framework of the “Arab coalition”. To support legitimacy and combat terrorism,” which is making efforts to liberate “Yemen” from the control of armed terrorist militias, and the attacks carried out by the “Houthi” terrorist group are often indiscriminate, especially long-range, where the weapons they use lack to accurately identify the targets, which is a flagrant violation to the laws of war and may amount to a war crime.

The Observatory renews its call to the international community to establish a specialized international mechanism to deter terrorist groups that commit massive and systematic violations of human rights in Yemen, as well as to ensure the protection of civilians there who are used as human shields, and to hold all terrorist groups that have a military presence accountable for their actions. The land of the state of “Yemen” and which is implicated in international crimes and violations of human rights, most notably the “Houthis, Hezbollah, groups linked to Al-Qaeda” and all of them are supported by “Iran”.

According to reports from the “Observatory” activists in “Yemen”, the “Lebanese Hezbollah” has become a partner of the “Houthi” group in the field fighting at a high rate since mid-2019, when it was previously providing logistical support, while it became part of the combat structure of the so-called “Unity”. In addition to its involvement (Hezbollah) in transferring foreign fighters from countries such as “Lebanon”, “Syria” and “Iraq” to participate in the fighting in “Yemen”, with its use of military headquarters and weapons factories in areas populated by civilians and next to schools and hospitals.

The Observatory called on the parties of the international community to pressure the existing regime in Iran by taking urgent measures against it to stop supporting terrorist groups in Yemen, as the Iranian role in supporting armed terrorist groups aims to tamper with international peace and security. The “Iranian” regime continues to blatantly defy international laws and norms in its support, support and financing of international terrorism.

The Observatory believes that the American step on 22/2/2020 to remove the “Houthis” from the US terrorism list is what allowed them and all terrorist groups backed by “Iran” to continue provoking organized terrorism targeting the countries of the “United Arab Emirates” and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” therefore, it is necessary to demand the return of this criminal group to the list of American and international terrorism.
