The US State Department designates Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization and calls on countries supporting human rights to adopt the decision

The signatory organizations to this joint statement believes that this designation is a positive step forward for supporting the victims of human rights violations caused by that terrorist group over the years. The unspeakable acts they committed have not only spared no one in Yemen, but also extended to reach neighboring countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the safety and security of innocent civilians have been threatened, and the vital institutions, facilities and religious sites have been targeted with missiles and drones fired from Iran. This, in addition to the serious threat posed by Houthis to the maritime navigation and international trade in the south of the Red Sea and the recent attempt to assassinate the Yemeni Cabinet in an explosion at Aden International Airport, which led to the deaths and injuries of innocent people.

The “Human Rights organization” calls on the international community with all its bodies and institutions, and the governments of the world, especially those obligated to protects human rights, to adopt the decision of classifying the (Houthis) in “Yemen” and (Hezbollah) in “Lebanon” as transnational terrorist organizations, to better track Iranian-backed terrorist activities around the world and confront it wherever found.
The “signatories to this statement” affirm that an end must be put to Iran’s sponsoring of terrorism in accordance with international law to stop the financing of terrorism, which has become a threat to all nations. They further add that there is no better evidence to Iran’s subversive policy that threatens international peace and security than the hideous criminal acts committed by the Houthis and Hezbollah terrorist organizations in European and Latin American countries.

Moreover, the signatory organizations renew their strong condemnation of the gross human rights violations practiced by the Iranian government against opposition and activists who are still subjected to all kinds of physical and psychological torture in the prisons of this state that sponsors terrorism.
